Scroll grades and success rates
Confirmed
- Four grades per family: Lesser 100% (+1), Intermediate 60% (+2), Greater 10% (+3), Chaos 10% (+4, varies by family).
- Only Chaos can destroy an item: 50% of failed Chaos scrolls boom the item.
- HP/MP families use +10/+15/+20/+25; Lesser is the most efficient there.
- Expected stat per slot: Lesser 1.0, Intermediate 1.2, Greater 0.3, Chaos 0.4. Intermediate (60%) is the best value per slot, and the market agrees: 60% scrolls were the top-rising price index at launch.
- 52 families, 208 scrolls. Lesser scrolls are sold by NPCs (e.g. Tulcus, El Moth) and craftable via Arcforge.
- This replaces the old 10/60/100/30/70 dark-scroll system. No white scrolls are documented.
AP/SP and resets
Confirmed
- 5 AP per level, all manual; no auto-assign or free reset at job advance.
- SP from Lv10: 3 per level plus 1 bonus at Lv10 (61 SP by Lv30).
- AP Reset Scroll costs 7,000 NX (requires Lv10, resets ALL stats including HP/MP-washed AP, never expires). SP Reset Scroll costs 7,000 NX (resets all non-Beginner skills).
- The Hands stat is removed and replaced by critical rate and critical damage.

Death EXP penalty
Likely
- Dying costs EXP (confirmed); LUK reduces how much you lose (meowdb).
- Exact percentage not published. Pre-Big-Bang baseline was roughly 10% of the current level's EXP (less in towns and for Beginners). Treat it as unverified for Classic.
- Safety Charm (Cash Shop, 800 NX for 1, 2,300 for 3, 8,400 for 12) prevents EXP loss while carried; consumed on use; revives at full HP/MP; tradeable once.
Level curve and job structure
Confirmed
- Level cap 100; 1st job at Lv10, 2nd job at Lv30 (10 branches). 3rd job, Orbis and El Nath are not in the launch build (being reworked for later).
- EXP curve matches pre-Big-Bang through Lv89; from Lv90 each level costs 2.1x the last. Lv99 to 100 alone is about 9.5B EXP (around 52% of the total 18.2B).
- Closed-test pace: about 3-4 h for Lv10-20, about 8-9 h for Lv20-30.
- Party EXP bonus exists, but a member who hasn't attacked for 15 s stops getting party EXP (anti-leech).
Crafting professions
Likely
- Six professions: Smithing, Weaponcrafting, Tailoring, Woodcrafting, Leatherworking, Arcforge (290 recipes total). Unlocks at Lv10; any character can learn all six.
- Each has a mentor NPC and crafting station on Victoria Island. Confirmed: Mr. Thunder in Perion (Weaponcrafting, after Silas Irons' Smithing intro) and Chrishrama in Sleepywood (Arcforge; weekly 'in Need of Help' quest Lv15+). Others are not verified.
- Pipeline: ore drops from mobs, Smithing refines it into ingots (Bronze/Iron/Steel/Mithril/Gold), and ingots plus screws or processed wood become gear. Leather and Pig's Ribbon become Processed Leather or Cloth (5 Leather = 1 Processed Leather; 10 Pig's Ribbons = 1 Processed Cloth).
- Crafting Catalysts (1H weapon, 2H weapon, armor, scroll) modify final stats.
- Profession level is capped by character level (e.g. craft Lv5 needs char Lv25, Lv6 needs Lv30); excess crafting EXP is wasted.
- Cheapest leveling: Woodcrafting (Wooden Baseball Bat, Balanche, Wooden Sword/Wand). Profit-positive at NPC prices: Iron Knuckle (Smithing, +1.5k), Iron/Mithril/Adamantium arrows x500 (Woodcrafting), Black Crystal (Arcforge).

Boss spawn timers
Likely
- Mushmom (Lv40): Someone Else's House (Henesys hidden), about 1-1.5 h.
- Zombie Mushmom (Lv55): The Grave of Mushmom (past Ant Tunnel Park), about 1-1.5 h.
- Rotten Mushmom (Lv60, Classic-new): Someone Else's Grave in Forgotten Hollow, about 1-1.5 h, from Nov 18.
- Jr. Balrog (Lv80): The Cursed Sanctuary (Sleepywood), about 3 h.
- Mini-timers: Iron Hog at Pig Beach 1 h; Jr. Boogies 5-10 min; Fairy spawns about 3 min.
- The server ticks about every 7.5 s, and normal mobs respawn on that wave. Zakum and Ludibrium PQ are not in Classic yet.

Differences vs original (pre-BB) MapleStory
Confirmed
- New content: crafting professions, Citizenship quest chains (from Lv12 in Henesys or Kerning, 123 quests), Forgotten Hollow (Lv39-60), Rotten Mushmom, Monkey Swamp / Hermit's Cabin.
- New scroll system (Lesser/Intermediate/Greater/Chaos); Hands stat replaced by crit.
- KPQ: no Lv30 cap, death doesn't end the run, multiple parties per channel, tougher King Slime (about 16.8k HP).
- Holy Arrow and Fire Arrow hit 3 times; archers can shoot at point-blank range; party loot rights are configurable; quest requirements changed.
- Taxis are 90% off for Beginners. The EXP curve is steeper from Lv90.

Differences vs modern MapleStory
Confirmed
- 4 explorer classes plus Beginner versus 40+ modern classes; no 3rd-6th job, no star force, cubes, symbols or Arcane systems.
- Manual AP/SP; slow leveling; mobs take several hits; death costs EXP.
- Separate world and economy: no character, item or IGN transfer. Only the NX balance is shared, and a ban in either game applies to both.

Cash Shop items that matter
Confirmed
- Policy: cosmetics and convenience only; no direct EXP boosters or power items.
- AP Reset 7,000 NX; SP Reset 7,000 NX; Safety Charm 800 NX; Super Megaphone 350 NX.
- Convenience Essentials Pack 9,900 NX (once per account): AP+SP reset, 1 slot coupon, 10 Safety Charms, 10 Super Megaphones (untradeable). The best value buy.
- Slot coupon (+5 inventory or storage slots) 5,000 NX. Selective 5-slot Coupons were the most-mesos-spent item in launch week, around 35k mesos.
- Pets 3,500 NX, permanent but need Water of Life (2,000 NX) every 30 days.
- Store Permits: Regular 1,500 NX (12 slots, 90 days), Pink 3,000 NX (18 slots); a Special 24-slot permit comes via Monthly Essentials.
- Hair coupons 5,500 (random) or 7,500 NX (choose); face coupons 3,500 or 5,500 NX. Gifting requires Lv12.
Trade and economy rules
Likely
- Classic World has its own economy separate from modern Maple.
- Direct player trades allowed; a meso tax applies to trades (rate not published).
- Untradeable items can't go in storage, the FM or trades; some Cash items are 'tradeable once'.
- Personal shop closes if a monster hits or kills you; shops are allowed on most hunting maps.
- NX-to-meso implied rate climbed from about 1.9 to about 8 mesos per NX in Founder's week (very volatile).
- Launch-week FM: about 41% of meso spend went to cash outfits, 32% to weapons/armor, 18% to scrolls, pots and stars. Iron Ore is the most-traded item (about 500 mesos).
Key dates
Confirmed
- Founder's Access Oct 6, 2026, 11:00 PDT ($59.99 Orange Mushroom or $79.99 Zakum pack); progress carries over.
- Grand Launch Oct 21, 2026 (free).
- Forgotten Hollow Nov 18; Hollow PQ (Lv41+) Dec 9.
- Mark of Beta quest ends in November.
Making mesos
Sell crafting ores and materials early Confirmed
Iron Ore (about 500 mesos), Mithril (about 450), Gold (about 280), Bronze (about 200), Leather (about 250) and Animal Fur Bundles move fastest on the FM because every crafter needs them. Farm Stumps (branches, Bronze Ore), Ribbon Pigs (ribbons, fur), Blue Snails and Slimes (ores and gems).
Farm and sell Intermediate (60%) scrolls Likely
The 60% scroll price index rose about 5x in launch week (Claw Attack Intermediate was the 2nd most-viewed item). Green Mushrooms are reported to drop Claw Attack scrolls; Mushmom and Zombie Mushmom drop Intermediate attack scrolls (reference data).
Profit-positive crafts Likely
Iron Knuckle (Smithing Lv8, about +1.5k per craft at NPC prices), Iron/Mithril/Adamantium arrows x500 (Woodcrafting, about +0.9-1.2k), Black Crystal (Arcforge Lv6, +800), Hardwood Wand (+710). Figures come from NPC sell-back and closed-test data; check FM prices.
Sell NX items for mesos Likely
Players sell Cash outfits and Selective 5-slot Coupons (about 35k mesos) on the FM; the NX-to-meso rate was around 8 mesos per NX by Oct 14 and rising.
Merching Likely
Track sold prices (not asking prices) for liquid goods: attack scrolls, glove scrolls, throwing stars (Wolbi), Weighted Earrings, Pure Water, Salad. Pure Water fell about 44% in week one, so early dumping beats holding.
Meso-heavy quests Likely
Shumi chain (Lv35; B3 alone pays 10k mesos plus 30 Mana Elixirs); Forgotten Hollow quest set (about 19.5k mesos); Arwen's repeatable Glass Shoe (921 mesos plus a material each). Avoid Rowen's 370 Cursed Dolls chain (reported as a meso sink).
Drake maps for EXP + mesos Unconfirmed
A community guide flags Drake hunting grounds (Lv35-55) as having good meso potential; Fire Boars drop Woobie stars and Arwen's shoe.
