Mark of the Beta walkthrough 🗺️
Jay found an old adventurer's journal with the middle pages torn out. Each page is hidden somewhere on Victoria Island, and the clues are written like riddles. All 7 quests need level 25.

Talk to Jay in the middle of Henesys. He hands you the Adventurer's Journal. Read page 1.

The First Mark

Go to The Pig Beach near Lith Harbor and search the crack in the rocks for page 2.

Hunt the monsters inside Someone Else's House until page 3 drops.

Climb to the old tree high up in Marr's Forest. Page 4 is there.

A nameless thief in Kerning City (Mong from Kong) sells page 5 for 10 mesos. Bargain!

Collect 4 scraps and put them together for page 6. The exact map isn't confirmed yet; it's somewhere off the usual paths.

Head to the end of Ant Tunnel Park and take the hidden portal. The Mark of the Beta is yours.
Your rewardMark of the Beta: a hat with +1 STR, DEX, INT and LUK, 15 weapon defense and 7 upgrade slots. Untradeable. That's a great free hat to scroll.
Steps come from the game files (via NiaMeowDB and henesys.gg). The EXP and meso rewards aren't in the files. If you finish step 6, tell us where the scraps were!
Played a closed test? Accounts that finished both test events (A Strange and Familiar Wood, and Beyond the Unknown) can claim the Classic Beginnings Label Ring and Chat Ring at launch. Nexon hasn't said how yet.

- Collect 30 Maple Leaves. Any level 10+ monster can drop them, so just play.
- Bring them to the Maple Administrator: far left of Henesys, or the new one in Kerning City.
- Get that day's gift. Come back tomorrow for the next one.

Nexon's launch slide showed a Snail pet that picks up mesos and items, potions, megaphones and other consumables, plus something to open a shop with. The day-by-day list isn't public yet.
Tap a box each time you claim a gift
It counts claims, not calendar days, so a missed day just pushes your last gift back. The event pet in the files lasts until Nov 19, which is why we think the event ends around Nov 18. Megaphones from events after launch need level 15. Your boxes are saved on this device only.

Find Malady
She's on the left side of Kerning City from Oct 28. Accept [Event] Halloween Candies.

Collect 100 Halloween Candies
Any level 10+ monster can drop them. The quest names Ribbon Pigs, Dark Stumps, Octopuses and Green Mushrooms. Accept the quest first; the candy may only drop while it's active.

Trick or treat!
Malady splits the candy into 3 pouches. Deliver one each to the child in the dark tunnel, the child on the open field and the child up on the high ground.

Back to Malady
Turn in [Event] Trick or Treat! for her reward. Got extra candy? Trade it in at the Maple Administrator in Henesys.
Possible goodies
In the game files but not confirmed as rewards: Malady's Candy (Red heals 600 HP, Blue 450 MP, Green 300 of each), the Pumpkin Basket (a one-handed sword with 24 attack, +1 all stats and +8 speed) and a Halloween Broomstick Chair. Pumpkin and witch outfits are probably for a Halloween fashion crate in the Cash Shop.
Tips
- Candy stacks to 100, can't be traded and is time-limited. Don't plan to sell it.
- Farm the busiest level 10+ map you can clear fast. Kill speed beats monster level here.
- The "dark tunnel" child might be in the Kerning subway. That's our guess until someone confirms it.
- It doesn't look repeatable, so it's probably one run per character.
