TL;DR

Stats
DEX primary; STR to bow requirement (roughly 1 STR per level). Lv1-10 all DEX; Lv11-15 10 STR/15 DEX; Lv16-30 1 STR/4 DEX; Lv31-70 1 STR/4 DEX (70 STR for Golden Hinkel).

AP build

DEX primary; STR to bow requirement (roughly 1 STR per level). Lv1-10 all DEX; Lv11-15 10 STR/15 DEX; Lv16-30 1 STR/4 DEX; Lv31-70 1 STR/4 DEX (70 STR for Golden Hinkel).

  1. Lv1-10: all DEX (57 DEX).
  2. Lv11-15: +10 STR / +15 DEX (15 / 72).
  3. Lv16-30: +1 STR / +4 DEX per level (30 STR / 132 DEX at Lv30).
  4. Lv31-70: +1 STR / +4 DEX per level (70 STR / 292 DEX at Lv70).
  5. Lv70-100 (our estimate): STR only if a higher bow needs it, else DEX.
  6. Pitfall: don't add STR for advancement; weapon's own stats can't help you equip it.

SP build

1st job (levels 10–29)

  1. Beginner: 3/3/3
  2. Lv10-18: Arrow Blow to 20 (Eye of Amazon 1-3 along the way)
  3. Lv18-23: Critical Shot to 15
  4. Lv23-27: Eye of Amazon to 15
  5. Lv27-30: Focus to 10, Power Knockback 1
  6. Variant: Power Knockback 1 at Lv11 for close-range utility. Double Shot 0 in default build (an SP Reset later can move points into Double Shot 20).
  7. Finish by Lv30.

2nd job (level 30+)

  1. Lv30: Arrow Bomb 1
  2. Lv31-39: Bow Mastery to 20, Bow Booster 5, Soul Arrow 1, Final Attack 1
  3. Lv40-49: Arrow Bomb to 30
  4. Lv50-59: Final Attack to 30, Amazon's Judgement 1
  5. Lv59-64: Booster to 20
  6. Lv64-70: Soul Arrow to 20
  7. Lv71-100 (our estimate): Amazon's Judgement (crit slow) to 20.
  8. Option: Arrow Bomb first if mobs already die cleanly. Mistake to avoid: maxing Final Attack before Arrow Bomb.
  9. Classic changes: Final Attack 25% proc; skill renamed Arrow Bomb (from Arrow Bomb: Bow).

1st job: level 10, Athena Pierce in Henesys.

2nd job: level 30, Athena Pierce in Henesys. Take Athena's letter to the Bowman Job Instructor on The Road to the Dungeon (near Henesys), collect 30 Dark Marbles in the hidden test map, trade for The Proof of a Hero, return to Athena and pick Hunter.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • #2 AoE at Lv70 and best long-range AoE
  • Arrow Bomb hits 6 and can stun
  • Faster attack than crossbows; rarely has accuracy issues
  • Soul Arrow removes arrow cost

Cons

  • Squishiest class in benchmarks
  • Weak melee whack inside ~65 px
  • Arrow Bomb is MP-hungry (28 MP)
  • No movement skill; bows must be crafted
