Grand Launch: what to know
Grand LaunchWed Oct 21, 11:00 AM PDT, free for everyone. Maintenance runs 6:00 to about 11:00 AM PDT.
WorldOne world, Windia, with 20 channels. KPQ only runs on Channels 3-7.
Characters3 per account. Founder's Access characters and progress carry over, with no wipe.
NamesFounders had two weeks to claim names, so have 3-5 backups ready. Names aren't shared with regular MapleStory.
- Don't spam the login button. Repeated attempts can get your IP blocked for a while.
- If you bought a Founder's Package, leave Maple Island before opening your mailbox, and claim everything by Nov 30.
- Join a citizenship at Lv 12 (Arthur in Henesys or Roxy in Kerning) and push to grade 2. That's what unlocks housing.
- Skip Henesys Hunting Ground and the Slime Tree if they're full of bots. Pig Beach, the Kerning Construction Site and the Green Mushroom Tree are calmer.
- Megaphones need Lv 15 from Oct 21 (they needed Lv 10 in Founder's Access).
- Main MapleStory and Classic can't run at the same time on one PC.
Events and what's coming
Dates are from Nexon's MapleStory Fest roadmap (Oct 17) and can move. Event details marked "Likely" come from the test client.
Housing Confirmed
Buy a house in your citizenship town (Henesys or Kerning). Decorate it, place storage or a crafting station, and visit friends' homes. Prices aren't known yet.

Malady on the left side of Kerning City wants 100 Halloween Candies from Lv 10+ monsters, then a trick-or-treat delivery. Extra candy trades in at the Maple Administrator (details from the test client).

The first new zone, entered from the Tree Dungeon near Ellinia or from deep in Sleepywood. Brings Rotten Mushmom, new Citizenship story, and Manji and Dark Lord quests.
Moon Bunny's Rice Cake Confirmed
A Thanksgiving event party quest. It's temporary, so run it while it's here.
Guilds, Hollow PQ and Happyville Confirmed
Guilds arrive (made in Lith Harbor; guild houses come later), plus a new Forgotten Hollow party quest and the Happyville Christmas town.
3rd job test server Confirmed
Nexon plans a public test for 3rd job. Ossyria and the first boss raid (Archon) have no date yet.

Rule changes worth knowing
- Obtainable equipment stops at Lv 50 for now; Nexon says the cap will rise with updates.
- Megaphones need Lv 15 from Oct 21. Chat only accepts English, Spanish and Korean characters; megaphones are English-only.
- Nexon permanently banned 1,379 accounts in the first week and over 3,000 by Oct 14 (hacking, botting and real-money trading), with no exceptions for Founder buyers. A ban covers your main MapleStory account too.
- Coming soon: Cash items you buy will be locked from trading for 48 hours after an account's first NX purchase.
- Hired Merchants aren't in the game yet; personal shops close if a monster hits you.
Patch notes since Founder's Access
Newest first. Nexon's Grand Launch notes (client v1.0.0) come out Oct 21; we'll add them here.
Megaphone notice
- From Oct 21, every megaphone needs Lv 15 (was 10). Megaphones bought before launch keep the old requirement.
Scheduled maintenance
- Fixed: monsters killed by burn or bleed gave double EXP and drops.
- Fixed: Steal triggered on misses (Steal is back and must hit).
- Fixed: some skills could push bosses around; Rush no longer moves bosses.
- Fixed: Lucky Day blocked 100% scrolls; pets now fill existing stacks when your inventory is full; shop items return as soon as a shop closes.
- Kerning City rework: the Civic Center is easier to reach and Kerning has its own Maple Administrator.
- Fixed disconnects from Arrow Bomb, Poison Breath and Heal near Zombie Mushrooms. Korean added as a beta language.
More channels
- Windia grew to 20 channels.
Steal switched off
- Bandit's Steal was disabled because it worked on misses.
Unscheduled maintenance
- Coconuts now sell to NPCs for 10 mesos (were 145).
- Cleric Heal's range was cut and it can no longer be cast without enough MP.
- Login problems on Channels 1-4 fixed.
KPQ moves off busy channels
- Kerning PQ was limited to Channels 3-5, then widened to 3-7 by Oct 13.
Launch build vs the closed test
- Slash Blast, Rush, Iron Arrow, Arrow Bomb and Poison Breath now hit 6 monsters (were 4). Only 3rd-job AoEs were cut to 4.
- Holy Arrow became one big single-target hit. Final Attack procs 25% of the time (was 50%) and now costs MP.
- Bless now cuts party damage taken by 15% instead of giving accuracy and avoid.
- Weapon attack scrolls got stronger: Greater +4 and Chaos +5 (were +3 and +4). Lesser weapon scrolls cost 30,000 mesos at NPCs.
- 62 monsters were retuned: 40 give less EXP and 39 are harder to hit. King Slime's EXP went from 248 to 2,400.
- 246 quests had their EXP changed, mostly up. The Deep Forest of Patience quests now need Lv 65.

Grand Launch is Wednesday, October 21, 2026 at 11:00 AM PDT, after maintenance from 6:00 AM PDT. It's free to play.
Does Founder's Access progress carry over?
Yes. Founder's Access characters, items and levels carry into Grand Launch with no wipe.
What events are on at launch?
The Journey Begins daily gift and Mark of the Beta start Oct 21, Halloween starts Oct 28, and Moon Bunny's Rice Cake runs from mid-November.
When do guilds come to MapleStory Classic?
